Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mystery Game Generator website and services (the “Service”), operated at mystery.sasquatchninjagames.com (and mystery-game-generator.fly.dev) and related pages (collectively, the “Site”). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or pack, or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Mystery Game Generator provides tools to create, customize, print, and host murder-mystery-style party games, including:

• Online game editor and printable/PDF materials
• Cloud storage for saved games (by plan)
• Live phone-based gameplay with room codes and host controls (paid plans)
• Purchasable mystery packs and subscription plans

The Service is intended for personal, private, and small-group entertainment. You are responsible for how you run games in your home, venue, or event.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should use the Service with a parent or guardian’s permission.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service.

4. Plans, billing & payments

Subscriptions (Creator, Pro Host)

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe until canceled.
• Prices are shown on the Store before checkout. Taxes may apply where required by law.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period (month or year) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Cancel anytime via Manage Billing on your Account page (Stripe Customer Portal).
• Canceling stops future charges; access generally continues until the end of the current paid period, then reverts to Free tier limits.

One-time pack purchases

• Individual mystery packs are digital products licensed for your use, not sold as physical goods.
• Owned packs remain on your account after purchase unless these Terms say otherwise.
• Pro subscribers may receive access to included packs only while the Pro subscription is active.

Promotion codes

Discount codes are subject to their stated terms, expiry, and eligibility. We may modify or withdraw promotions at any time.

5. Digital pack returns and the Pack Fit Promise

14-day Pack Fit Promise

If a one-time game pack is not the right fit for your group, email thesasquatchninja@proton.me within 14 days of purchase. We will add one replacement pack of your choice to your account at no additional charge. A replacement has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and is not separately refundable or replaceable under this promise.

Because pack files and printable content cannot be returned after delivery, a digital pack purchase is final once its content has been accessed, generated, downloaded, printed, or used to host a game. Cash refunds remain available when the purchased pack has not been accessed, for duplicate charges, for an unresolved technical defect or material difference from the product description, or when required by applicable law. We may use account access, PDF, print, and hosting records to determine whether digital content was delivered or used.

The Pack Fit Promise does not cover subscriptions or AI-credit purchases and does not limit any refund, cancellation, conformity, or withdrawal rights that cannot legally be limited. Any request is reviewed in good faith based on the purchase, delivery, usage, and support record.

Billing errors

For duplicate charges, technical failures, or unauthorized payments, contact us promptly at the address above. We will review the issue in good faith and coordinate with Stripe where appropriate.

6. License to use content

Our mystery packs & templates

Mystery packs, templates, artwork, scripts, and generated materials provided by us are licensed for your personal or commercial event hosting (e.g., dinner parties, paid ticketed events you host), but not for resale or redistribution of the underlying game files “as-is” to third parties.

You may not:

• Resell, sublicense, or publicly redistribute our pack JSON/files as competing products
• Remove ownership notices or misrepresent authorship of our packs
• Scrape, bulk-download, or mirror the Store catalog for republication

Your content

You retain rights to games you create. By saving games to the cloud, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that data back to you solely to operate the Service.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, harassing, or harmful purposes
• Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt servers or live rooms
• Impersonate others or use the live chat to threaten, spam, or share illegal content
• Circumvent billing, watermarks, or access controls
• Overload the Service (including excessive automated requests or room creation)

8. Live games & player experience

Live gameplay relies on internet connectivity for hosts and players. We do not guarantee uninterrupted real-time service. Temporary room data may be stored on our servers to support active sessions.

As host, you are responsible for player conduct, age-appropriate content, and any prizes or rules at your event. Players join at their own choice; do not share room codes publicly if you want a private game.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Game stories are fictional entertainment; we do not guarantee outcomes of in-person events.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted on the Site or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply.

Before filing a claim, please contact us to try to resolve the issue informally. Any dispute not resolved informally shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
